dive rite nitek duo batteries

Ok so here i am after valentine day and i have one of those talking hallmark cards. the ones that are totally annoying but fun. well i decided to take it apart ( not very hard) to make fun little speaker toys for the kids. well i have a nitek duo computer and the batteries these hallmark cards use is the same exact battery!!! these are lithium batteries in these halmark cards. so people i would check your computer and if some one gave you one of these cards take the battery out check to see if you can use it. works great with the nitek duo. and for people out there with some doubt, how many times did you open that card for the music 3 or 4 times. plus think of the enviroment all those cards with all those batteries what a waste.

just a little fun fact and proves how cheap i am since i didn;t buy the card!!!

Battery swap

I for one wouldn't use a bettery from a card in my computer.
I purchased the battery from walmart for my Duo for about $3.00.
Dura Cell 2032 , I think. I will have to look when I get to the office on Monday.
I don't want to take any chances with the battery going dead during a dive.

I will stick with buying a battery I know has the strength and duration for my dive computers. Besides I ONLY purchase cheap .99 cards...lol

buying a "new " battery doesn't mean it will last or work. lucky i had that experince when buying a new battery at radio shack and installed in the computer. guess what didn;t work. took the battery back and got a replacement and the second one worked. the guy there said that it happens more than people think. so either way better to have a back battery anyway and better yet a back up computer. since i am cheap anyone want to give me a second computer hahaha, just kidding

How do you like your Nitek? I've considered buying one. Do you use it for gas switching or are you not at that point yet?

I am also curious about the Nitek Duo. I just sold my hose mount computer on eBay and am looking for a good wrist mount.

I wish I could get one that downloads to Mac, but that seems like it ain't gonna happen!

I also have a nitek and realy like it. Its nice and easy to ready and very user friendly. I also had a suunto mosquito that I sold and kept the nitek.

Tusa has the same computer just a different name. I hear you can get the Tusa version a little bit cheaper and has a better warranty.
