wrist gauges

well I have narrowed it down to this:

the new freedom plate once its available
mach v wing
hp130
atomic m1 + scubapro 600 octo
suunto sk7 wrist compass
tusa spg only - not cluster

need to decide on;

wrist computer
wrist depth gauge (must have temp gauge)

ideas on the wrist stuff would be appreciated - I am having a hard time finding a reliable depth gauge with temp.

I have decided that everything must be ready to go - without the wrist computer...hence the selection of the wrist stuff - I find that natural to use instead of hangers...

I will do all kinds of diving except cold water - great barrier reef to the caribbean an inland lakes in the US. Not very deep...

Any computer you buy should have a depth gauge. If you want a backup the Timex Helix watch for $20 on E-bay is nice. Has depth, temp, time, water activation, and saves from dive to dive.

Analog depth gauges are getting harder and harder to find with the advent of computers. The only ones you see any more are basic ones intended for the cheapest of consoles.

Any basic computer will have depth and temp on your wrist, however. If you're worried, get two. Save a few bucks by buying used for the second one, perhaps.

i'm also struggling with getting gauges. i want to be streamlined and have everything at hand (at wrist?), but i also don't want to break the bank buying wrist stuff, computer, etc. i'm tempted to dive tables with the timex helix for depth gauge until i save up some money for a wrist computer.

Personally the Timex is fine, I use one on my dives in addition to the VT3. Someday the VT3 will back the VR3, but that's a long ways down the road for now.

thanks for the computer links - however thats the part i am not worried about. I want a manual (ie not digital) backup - and i would really like it on the wrist - do they make universal wristmounts and do they suck if they exist????

The only gauge I want hanging is the spg - once again as its manual. everything else on the wrists; compass, computer, watch, depth gauge....
