I can tell every cruise I know of only ports at any place for one day.
Around 6-12 hours in port then off to the next destination. The only place they visit twice is where you first board the ship & the final time you get off. They all have blackjack though so you won't be able to afford to dive anyway. ![]() ![]()

I have only been on one cruise and I can say I don't care to ever go on another. I would much rather fly somewhere and spend a week on land than spend a week on a crowded boat with a bunch of rude people. I'm sure the diving would be much better than 'cruise dives' too.

The only advantage we had to cruise diving was we were able to get off the ship earlier than most of the crowd. I didn't like the stress of trying to get back to the boat on time though, (we set up dives ourselves). But, if it was cheap enough, I guess we'd do it again....(and some of the cruise rates are really cheap at times.)

I like to avoid the flights to some of these islands and taking a cruise certainly makes it easier when you can drive to the boat. And if you have non divers, going to a diving destination may not be as great for them.
For me, I like to use cruising to check out different places and then go back for a week to the places we liked. I did a western caribbean and we loved Roatan so we returned for a week to Anthony's Key. We are debating a cruise next year that goes to St. Thomas, Dominica, Grenadines, Aruba & Bonaire. |

Your dive time of of a cruise will be very limited. If you want to do extensive diving, land-based trips are best. However, other than sight seeing, cozumel isn't that great for non-divers. Now, if your non-diver party is willing to take a ferry over to Cancun while you spend the day diving, that would definitely work.
