Not sure how long of a boat ride it takes to get you sick but Papa Hogs has always come back to shore for teh SI and the boat rides were pretty short. I realize short when you are not sick might be different than if you are but just thought I would pass it on.

Thanks, I may check out Papa Hogs, shore SI's would definitely be OPTIMUM! (which is one reason why we were looking at Iberostar since I read they usually come back to the resort for SI's) But it's not within walking distance of town. I'm hoping the patch works this time, because we really want to stay in town to experience all the cool places to eat and non-diving activities. We're trying to make it as "budget" as we can and figured a breakfast plan would be good then eat at some place local for dinner. So far seem to be around $1,700 for 7 days. Although its a tough choice because we can also go to Barbados for about the same price, BUT that doesn't include diving or any food and of course we would need a rental car. We most likely won't boat dive 5 out of the 7 days (which it seems most of the dive/hotel packages are for) so hopefully we can purchase a custom package... maybe with some shore dives if we stay at the right place. I thought maybe the VillaBlanca would be good, but not to keen on the two bars I hear are across the street. Our Curacao vacation was a nightmare because we were next to a bar and NEVER got any sleep. We like peace and quiet since we're not big party people. If anyone has any suggestions on quiet places to stay in town, preferably on the water, and a close dive shop with possible shore dives (doesn't have to be mind blowing shore dive) that would be appreciated! |

I've attached a map of the resort (from 2000, probably still the same), I stayed in building 23 which is right outside of the back of the pool restaurant/bar... it was usually quiet but did get a little noisy late at night when they were loading the carts to take things out. Not the best spot, but not bad either. Oh yeah, another +1 for Papa Hogs..
