It is a bit of a boat ride but Columbia Shallows is a great beginner reef with a max depth of about 25 ft and plenty of life with very healthy corals. With hundreds of dives in Cozumel, it is still one of my favorites.

Odds are they will pick the reefs for you based on clarity and current. All good suggestions so far, I will mention that tormentos has always had an amazing amount of sea life from sharks to turtles and everything in between. It is a pretty unique reef for sure, one of my favorites shallow reefs there...BR

Ditto that!! Just let the DM know about your experience level and they'll take you to the best reefs ... it's almost hard to find a bad one in Cozumel anyway!! We head back at the end of November ... can't wait!!

I've never been to a bad site...hell, after OW and muck-e-ty lake dives you'll likely be impressed giant striding off the end of the pier in Cozumel
which isn't typically very exciting, but you'll love it all.Have a great time... My favorites....oh hell...I love them all, except the wreck...just not into it. Envious, enjoy your time!

I would agree I haven't found a bad one yet but Tormentos is probably my fav once you figure out how to deal with the current. Palancar Caves are pretty cool too though. As a beginer the caves part made me nervous but where I have been they are really more like big swimthoughs than caves. Enjoy! Papa Hogs is great you will have a blast.
