deco software
Heys guys! What decompression software do you use and why? What was the cost and was it worth getting. Pass along problems you might have had and how they were solved(?) Support etc. How has it changed the way you dive (if it does) If you still run tables and if you are still using tables.
Advantages and disadvantages. .

I use DecoPlanner 3.1.4 which is a fully customizable deco planning program featuring both VPM and Bühlmann. DecoPlanner is a great product.
It is a great tool for decompression divers and particularly helpful when planning trimix dives. This program has as most on the market today, other tools that make planning SO much easier and allow you to compare plans under consideration. I suggest one becoming familiar with several other softwares on the market as they are also popular and its good so while in the field if becomes ness. to hop on one on the fly you are still in the loop. Disclaimer: These type deco planning programs are not a substitute for appropriate technical dive training by a qualified instructor and proper certification.

I use GAP, Dplan and Jplan. They all to gradient factor Buhlman models which I prefer. (IE, I have personal expierence with them in my body and I am still here). I also use the VR3 which is Buhlman with Pyle stops as well. Generally, for deep OW wreck dives, I'll use tables with my computer as a backup. For caves, its the computer with tables as a backup. (I carry a bottom timer as well as the computer)
I second Tex, this software is no substitute for formal training in technical diving. |

I've been using V-Planner. I enjoy running the "what ifs" and always compare them to extisting imformation I have. I gives me a place to start. The features are pretty good and the price was about what I could afford. does anyone know how to cut tables with the program?
