Putting Doubles back together
I am getting ready to put my doubles back together.
What do I need to pay attention to? My plan is to put both valves on and then set the isolator valve between the two valves and get it threaded on each valve at the same time. How do I know exactly when it is threaded enough? Should I get the isolator started and then tighten the bands down? Or should the isolator be set up and then the bands tightned? Thanks Phil |

I think the last one works as well as any, but since the tanks are pretty heavy make sure you have a good solid surface under them so the tanks don't move around too much.
If you're going to dive Nitrox O2 clean them first of course, but most importantly, if you have new bands get rid of the stickers/residue on the inside edge of the bands or it will stick the bands to the tank forever, or at least you might think it is.

Well I got them together with no problems but as usual I had something go unplanned... I brought my BP up to make sure the spacing was correct and the bolts would not go through my plate. I mean that the holes in the plate were to small... The bolt going through the bands is 3/8 in diameter and the holes in the plate were just a little to small. So I just drilled a bigger hole in the plate so that the bolts would go thourgh. To do that though I had to completely unrig my harness which was a little frustrating but oh well. You live and you leave. Took the tanks in and got them filled up. Now all I have to do is get the darn things in the water...
Thanks again for the help... Phil |

this is a question... please.. no one shoot me for asking!!
why is it that they are not just checked for spacing(manifold) and then you thread the tanks on to em, one at a time...? thanks.
