I don't think I'm abnormal or strong, but Jet's don't make me sore or find muscles I never knew of. My double HP120's will make me aware of a few things over a weekend however, but never the fins.

Depends on how you're using them. When you're using them with a proper frog kick, they're not hard on you. If you try to spend an entire dive flutter kicking them, I can see it getting uncomfortable if you don't have really strong legs.

Maybe that's it, I almost always use a frog kick. Especially in a drysuit, with a wetsuit I might use a flutter kick but still I prefer a frog kick. It helps when you're near to the bottom.
I have used a flutter kick with them to keep up with a buddy who went into speed mode, didn't bother me then either. But it wasn't for an entire dive.

I personaly know two tec instructers who swear by split fins when they are doing non tecnical dives. But I belive if they plan on entering a cave or deep wrek then things change. I think what people need to remember here is that context also matters with your gear. Just the same as you might not take the pony and doubbles to a 20' reef dive in the keys.

the point of the heavy sp jet fins, are in part to put some weight on your feet, so you dont have floaty feet. or so I have been told
