DIR Octo hose

I just switched all my hoses to DIR lengths and I am not so sure that I like the 22" secondary hose. I am diving singles and it is not long enough for me to turn my head to the left. Does anyone else have this problem. Obviously I know that I am not going to be using it all the time so it is probably not that big of deal, but I would like to be comfortable when I do have to use it.

Well, if it doesn't work for you at that length you can change the length slightly. If you look where you ordered the 22" hose you'll find another DIR approved length available.

Some people due to body construction/regulator style will have issues with 22 inches and others won't.

I happen to have one that is about an inch bigger that I am going to try tonight. Hopfully that will be enough to feel confortable in my mouth. If not I will try to go up another inch.

Well I switched it out last night for the other hose that I had and it works much better. It is amazing what a difference an inch can make.

Don't tell my wife I said that...

Are you trying this on above water to see how it fits?

Yes, it has not been in the water yet. Hopefully today I will get into a local pond for a dive. If not it will be this weekend...

Once you get into the water, you will see that it works better. Your tank will be higher up and the 22" hose will fit fine. I did the samething as you did. Tried it on dry.

Well the one that I have on there right now is 23" and I am going to be hitting the pond tonight. I will keep that one one for this weekend and then after that I will try putting the 22" back on and get into the water with that one on and give it a shot...

Post back, but take the short one with you as well and swap it out. Use the shortest length you can. Let us know what worked and what didn't.
