I dive with yoke. I'm only doing recreational diving and yoke seems to be more universal especially when I travel. If I ever decided to get into technical diving I would probably go with DIN and use a yoke adapter for reasons already mentioned.

I dive DIN. I've had o-rings blow on training dives and I don't have the time to screw around with that when I'm supposed to be with a group. I'm glad those happened near the surface as opposed to when I'm on a deeper dive. I have a yoke adapter for the times I use a rental tank. I prefer the secure connection of DIN, no matter what tank I'm using. Just my .02

I use DIN. I swapped after we got my wife a couple of HP100's for tanks. Since her tanks are HP, she had to use DIN so while I dive LP tanks we switched so that all of our gear is configured the same. We still have the yoke set ups for traveling.

Since this is in the DIR/Tech section, I'd assume the majority of folks here are using DIN. I started off with DIN and still use it for my setup. Wife has identical reg but yoke connection. We have our own tanks w/ thermo pro valves that are DIN w/ the yoke insert.
We've never had a problem, and even when we go to the caribbean, the type of diving I'm doing usually connects me with like-minded individuals who have DIN tanks to rent. I've only ever had to use a yoke tank once and used my din->yoke adapter for that instance. |
