Oxycheq Plate Pad

Has anyone used the plate pad by Oxycheq? I am considering it as a place to store my SMB.

Thanks.

BTW Oxycheq have become obsessed about not letting people hotlink their picture. Nice try!

Well I guess I should have checked your profile.

The reason I asked, is not all divers dive a "package". One of the great things about BPW's is their modularity. Divers do select plates, wings, harnesses and other components based on their personal needs and preferences as well as product specific benefits.

While BPW's are modular, there are variences in compatibilty of components.

I have some experience with a few manufacturers and intended to offer advice if I could.

Yea... We carry all the Oxycheq stuff including the Plate Pad - I just had Joe toss it on the page. Folks that are diving without a heavy suit seem to like them the most. If you've got 7mil of neoprene on - it's probably not that big of a deal.

previously i purchased a sleeve/pocket that i can mount it below my plate. I just have to slot the smb inside.

But i'm not sure why, oxycheq doesn't produce them anymore.

I haven't used the OxyCheq storage pak, but I have the Halcyon MC Storage Pak on my Halcyon plate, and it's great for storing large SMBs. I would imagine this would be the same.

I wear 7mm wetsuits and drysuits for all of my diving, so any "padding" aspects are irrelevant. I suppose I *might* care if I was diving in a rash guard, but with any sort of exposure protection, it's not necessary.

I wouldn't want to zip tie the pak on... that's a pretty ghetto attachment method. Use SS sex bolts or plastic license plate screw holders instead.

It looks about the same. Try looking around Halcyon: Multifunction Compensator Overview
