What are your guys thoughts on this Dive Rite pocket.
I know proper thigh pockets are better, but I often dive without a wetsuit, so it's not always an option. Before anyone reccommends x-shorts, I'm a big buy and not sure I can get a pair that will fit. I don't want to spend $80 on eBay for something that doesn't fit me well. Plus I can get this pocket from ST with a gift certificate.

The pocket you show is a pocket that needs to be glued onto something (wetsuit or drysuit). Try the OxyCheq x pocket, I love mine. Or the diverite thigh pocket, http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...iteThighPocket. Oxycheq pocket has one thigh strap whereas DR has two straps. Scubatoys sells both.

Actually this pocket slides onto the waist of the harness. Here is a better pic. You can see the back where it accepts 2" webbing.

I own one, and it's a very good pocket. Handy for keeping my wet notes separate from the rest of the gear, and for keeping my long hose in check before I got a can light.

I prefer x-shorts, or better yet, pockets permanently attached to the exposure suit.

Get two pockets, visit your local seamstress and make your own x-shorts!

I think I'm going to pick one of these up for now, and then look into x-shorts. I got to thinking, though, and there's not much I'll have to put in a pocket. With my current BC I keep a small light, slate, SMB, and spool in the pockets. When I get my BP/W, I'm going to bungee the SMB to the bottom of the plate, clip the spool off on the butt d-ring, and the light on a shoulder d-ring. Just need a place for slates/wetnotes. It might be nice to put the spool in a pocket, though.

I do pick up trash when I find it, but I wouldn't call that pretty souvenirs.

I've got one as well, use it to hold wetnotes, small light, sometime a finger spool, pieces of pirate treasure I find, etc. Nice pocket, does what it claims.
