Does anyone know if I can fit an Oxycheq Mach V on a Halcyon backplate?

It should fit no problem. Both the holes on the plate and the grommets on the wing have the standard 11" spacing, so just add an STA and you're set.

Someone yesterday said and I checked with Oxycheq too, that there is no need for STA with the Mach V.

Yes, I forgot to add that. The new one doesn't need a STA. Alot of people prefer one, though.

For stability. With most rigs the STA route will give you less tank wobble. There are exceptions, such as DSS single tank wings. They are built from the ground up to be used without an STA, and are very stable. I don't know how well the new Mach V works without one, so you might want to wait for someone with experience to post.
Almost forgot, some people like the added weight of the STA. It will take a few pounds off your belt.

I'm guessing the new Mach V has slots for tank straps, the original one does have slots, so the wing is able to be vary low profile width wise- it barely peeks of the sides of my plate.

I think the new Mach V is the same width, but somehow they managed to put slots in it. I haven't seen one, so I don't know how the slots look.

GolemGear STA-less wing is rock solid. No tank wobble. My HammerHead SS BP does have a STA when I need it. It weighs 5 pounds, combined with HH SS BP, that's 10 pounds of steel that's not on the belt.
