Hydrospace Explorer Trimix Computer

Looking for input on the HS Explorer computer. Ease of use, reliability, functionality, concerns as well as what you would recommend if you don't like the Explorer and why.

Please.....looking for input from those who know the Explorer. Thanks.

I have only seen one....they have been around a number of years....you hear very little about them in the USA. My general feeling is their are probably better options in a trimix computer for those wishing to take that route. I persl. am 'old' school and still cut custom tables and run gauge mode bottom timers. Hope you get some detailed info.,,,you might search Deco Stop site.

I got offered a brand new one for a very good price. I passed due to the reports of reliability issues.

You might check on rebreatherworld.com as well for some more opinions.

I'm sitting on the fence when it comes to a Trimix Computer.................

Good point!!...rebreatherworld....they do have a stronger following for CCR folks than OC divers.

I'm with you there, as well as Ian's comments about reliability. There are guys I know who swear by the VR3 (they mostly dive rebreathers).

I have an Explorer computer. I didn't like it when I first got it because it leaked on the first two dives I made with it. After returning it to Hydrospace, they replaced an oring. I only use it for dives below 100 feet. I like the RGBM and it is easy to setup, as far as I am concerned. It should come it handy for my Wreck Penetration IQC that I am taking this summer.
However, most tech divers use tables and only have the computer as a backup. You can also check with Tim O'Leary at American Diving on South Padre Island. I know they use them, but again as backups on tech dives.
