DIY Flood Adapter for the Dive Rite MR11 HID Light
Well, I had been wanting to have a "flood" light with my Dive Rite MR11 HID light, but, can't justify the cost to go to a new light, and came up with the following for $12.95. The adaper widens the beam about 4-5 times.
Using a $7.98 halogen bulb, and a $4.97 rubber plumbing fitting, I was able to make a slip on adapter in about an hour. I figured this might be useful for some folks! (I will take a photo tonight in the pool to give an flood idea.) Full write-up on how I made the adapter.  |

Yes, the link change is correct - right now I'm getting about a 20% increase in the beam - I have another idea that I want to try to get it even larger, but, haven't had the time do do so yet. They have another Par 20 bulb that has just a diffused glass lens that I think might work quite well, also a cut fresnell lens will also work I believe!
