Trim tank weight idea
I've been working on tuning my trim, and have been frustrated by trying to get trim weights set on my Zeagle Brigade (the Zeagle trim pockets are too low for me and the SW small trim weight bags I got don't fit on the top strap). Rather than returning the SW bags and starting from scratch, I thought of this solution (yet to try it out): Get a length of 2" webbing with a simple buckle (e.g an old weight belt), thread the SW trim weight bags on it and then attach the strap around the TANK. You then could not only adjust the weight in the SW trim bags, but also tune placement of the weights along the length of the tank. Depending on where you place the buckle, you could even be able to ditch them pretty easily (if needed). It would be slightly more cumbersome when swapping tanks, but I think you could minimize weight and still get absolutely perfect trim by moving the weights up/down with respect to your COG. Anybody think of/try this already?

I use a cam band for trim. It holds better than a weight belt since it has rubber to prevent it from slipping. One other option would be to put some tool-dip on the underside of the buckle and use rubber coated weights with a weight belt, as long as there is enough friction, it shouldn't move.

The only times I've seen that done are with a cam band. I would think in the long run it would be more secure that way. Think back to using a weight belt and the occasional adjustments you had to make to maintain a good tension. You may be able to scavenge a set of bands from a down and out BC at a local dive shop.

I may have missed something but could you put them on the top band? I used these XS Scuba Weight Pocket, Weights, XS Scuba, XS Scuba Weight Pocket
and put them on my band an they went real smooth |
