Underwater Imager/recording/Light replacement
I have a bunch of IR imagers, so i thought, hey, why not make a bunch of under water cameras. I can choose for them to have RCA out and an LCD screen in the back, or just the CCD and lens connected to my Pocket PC if i dive with my axim. Some of you saw my BT thread and wondered what i was doing. This is one of the things. I'll probably get make my own case (it won't be bigger than 2"x2"x3" for just the CCD or get an otterbox enclosure for the whole camera). I want to mount IR lights on my mask in the blind spots.
I know that fingernail polish is used in waterproofing bullets for powerheads, and i plan to use it for the IR lights as they are really small and I won't need to make an enclosure. For the enclosure pod of the CCD, i was hoping for a polycarb or polyure clear case window. However, i also want 0 buoyancy so i don't have to worry about it floating around. How does one normally achieve that? I'm thinking of adding stabilizer fins so that it doesn't move around too much if i let it go to grab something else. If anyone is willing to help with that research, that would be awesome. I'm almost done with my carputer and my IMU and Bluetooth adapters are in the mail for my prototype UAV (which will also go into my scooter if i get around to that project), so this will probably be next in line due to the ease of building. I hope to waterproof it to a few hundred feet, although i will almost be hitting a max of about 64ft on most of my dives since the LI Sound is so shallow. sooooo...yeah...questions, comments? |
