Ah, I see.
In the 70's I would carry a 4ft pole spear (no tip) on a lot of dives. I used as a tickle stick, held me off the bottom if I was over weighted for some reason (no BC), push off sharks (if I was taking pics and buddies were spearing), would put an orange glove on it when I surfaced (no smb)

Looks great! Like I said the project got put on the back burner for me. What you did was what I was trying to find with no luck. Where did you get the file handles and how is the rod attached? Reel looks great to BTW.
