I know someone that was going to make his own suit. He THOUGHT that he was going to save money. After many hours of searching for what he wanted he found out that it wasn't feasible.
If you are wanting neo to patch something with, buy a used suit off e-bay. of course make sure that it isn't ancient or the neo will probably be rotted.

Buying a sheet of 3mm and making pockets out of it works... and you can get it in neat colors...

Pockets might be worth it but a whole suit isn't..at least from what I have been told.
