Upgrade a UK SL6?

Hello, I have a UK SL6 and not really been happy with the light, it is very yellow and not very bright. I got it used and was wondering if the bulb slowly dims so if I replace the bulb it would be better, or if there is a fairly easy way to upgrade it with different bulbs / batteries? Any ideas? thanks, Darin

Do you have any ideas as to how old it is?

SL6 is normally super bright. 8 watts & 201 Lumens with new batteries.
They are so simple, there really isn't much that can go wrong.
Are the batteries loaded in properly? 3 in a row +up and 3 in a row +down.

Check all the metal contacts to see if any are corroded and clean them up.
If they are clean, its probably the bulb.
You can get a new bulb & reflector assembly for $10.

Thanks! It must be the bulb, looks like the perfect thing to use my $10 gift that Joe and Larry gave me after my tenth post!
