In general BARE makes wonderful wet and dry suits. The suit you are talking about has been in their line for several years with good results and performance. I know several divers that own them and are satisfied with the suit and its value.

Not sure what you mean by the finer points
![]() I just got one, and made 4 dives in it over the last couple days. Was a perfect fit (just remember that BARE already adds the needed room for sizes) I wear an 8 1/2 shoe , so I had the 8 soft sock installed on mine. Fits the feet great. Pair of Thermal Socks and the Bare Trek-Boots using Turtle fins w/ 10" spring staps Only issue/complaint I have, the dump valve does not seem to dump air as fast as a DUI dump valve on their suits/ Again, ordered it using the bare sizing chart, and it was a great fit (almost fit's me like a cave-cut dui custom order )Really like the polar-tech unders that I got with it. (Now if I could just remember I'm not wearing a wetsuit and stop peeing in my dry-suit I'd be in heaven) lololol But, once you go dry, you'll never go back to wet..Kind a like side-mount..

Ive dove in the nex gen about 6 times you get alot of bang for the buck only (small) problem is if your down for a while it doesnt provide the same warmth as a neoprene suit in really cold waters but there a little more money. But all in all the nex gen cannot be sniffed at for the price unless you can find a good second hand suit.

Actually it provides as much warmth as you need. You just wear the proper undergarment for the temps you expect. You don't even need to buy expensive undergarments. Just layer them, so go to Bass Pro, Cabela's etc and buy some good thermals on sale and layer them under what you got. That's the best feature of a membrane suit, it's usable all year round no matter what the temps are, unlike neoprene suits where some of them can't be used on shallow dives in 100 degree temps without overheating the user.
Membrane suits are completely at home year round and you can be as warm as you want, or as cold.
