I probably would go with a BP/wing because I could add options on it and change the feature to fit my style of diving while the ranger BC comes in one piece.

I'm another BP/W guy. Just seems the way to go for me.

I don't want to be a smart@$$. There are many threads here and on The Other Scuba Board that discuss advantages/disadvantages if BP/W vis-a-vis rear-inflate BCD.

So many opinions. So, so, many opinions.

//for the record, I've been BP/W since dive #6

Well it seems like all the add on stuff for a bp/w are standard on the ranger. I might of missed a few options with the bp but, wouldnt the zeagle tech cover that? I thought the big reason for a bp was streamline as well as strength. My buddy tells me a bp is to hook 25 lights on to lol hes a smart ass. So what is the real big advantage over the ranger?

You make a good point and for me it was the selling point between a Brigade and a BO/W. Streamline clean and simple! I dont need pocket (especially ones that dont open UW any how. A BP/W is infinitely more adjustable and more modifiable (is that even a word?) than a BC. Its not that the Zeagle will not have the same features, its just that with the BP/W you got to put only the features you want on it. But in the end it was the simplicity and cleanliness of design that sold me on a BP/W set up. IN the end you will be happy with either choice. Get a friend or LDS to let you try there BP/W adn a rear inflate BCD and make your decision more informed than subjective! Good luck.

I dive a zeagle concept II pro that is a back inflate its sort of like the ranger but it has 2" straps and can only hold 1 tank. Is one or the main reasons for a bp that it can hold doubles? I also forgot the main reason I started asking this question. My main concern was will a bp or a ranger preform with the drysiut the same? Does one work better or have better reason to be matched with a drysuit?

That's true... with a ranger, you get a lot of "features" you may or may not actually want. With a BP/W, you get only the features you choose to configure. It's simplicity is a big part of the appeal, and it's versatility is another big one. It is arguably the best way to go if you want to dive doubles, but that doesn't mean it's only good for doubles divers. I know a lot of folks who use theirs exclusively as a singles rig.

In a drysuit, it's likely you'll find the weight of a stainless steel plate a good thing, as it's less weight you'll need to carry on a belt or pocket.

Personally, I'm completely sold on the bp/w. If someone gave me a brand new Ranger, it would likely sit unused.

when you are sold on a product...you are sold. I use my ranger...sometimes carry alot of "stuff"....I like it...guess I'm used to it or maybe sold on it. Would like to hear more about wearing it using a drysuit.
