I have the Bare 200 count long underware size 2xl I'll sell for 75 bucks plus shipping. I also wear the long Johns you are talking about at work (union carpenter, mostly all form work) and its warm but it cant be in the dryer or washed with fabric softner. Something about it clogs the pores.

I'm in the military and have worn these in AK. If cared for properly, they can be very warm, but they are also designed for layering. If you want to use them as undergarments, they will work well down to about 50 degrees because they are not very thick but they are a good intermediate weight undergarment IMHO. I wear them and they are great if the fleece underwear is too much for you.

I have used mine which are the genuine deal for diving, but only as a layer because they're not very useful unless you stay shallow and dive in the Summer.
