Talk me out of.....

Okay, I've been diving with a 7mm full suit and adding a hooded vest for colder weather. With the Nex Gen suits going for under $700 at ST right now, I am very tempted to drop the cash and pick one up.

Bare makes a good suit; however, I'm saving up for a Santi.

I'm happy with mine. I paid $576 for it. Right now its at $949.95. The things I don't fully like about it are:
It's a rear entry zipper.
The wrist seals are a little tight for me, after a while I get a slight numbing in my hands. (yes, i'm aware of trimming them and have done so. they are bottle type with the stock "neck" size too small for my wrists).
The inflator fill button is very tiny
The exhaust valve seems finicky to me and the location makes it awkward for me to get it to be high enough to vent easily the last amounts of air.

What I like: It was inexpensive.
It seems well made, especially for the price.
It fits me well.
Did I mention $576 for a brand new 2008 suit.

Why talk you out of it? Suffer like the rest of us. You too can suffer from being called "a cheater" and a "drysuit wimp" while you stay nice and toasty and your dive buddies are running for the hot showers.

I like the abuse so much, I bought two drysuits - one trilam and one neoprene (couldn't make up my mind). Now I'm called the "rich guy with two suits".

No way would I try to talk you out if it! It's great diving dry! The only thing I would suggest is going a few extra bucks & getting a front zip. So much easier & self sufficient...

Once you dive dry, you'll have trouble putting a wetsuit on ever again. Go for it.

I didn't end up with a Bare, but I did fine a smoking deal on a used DUI TLS. $150 delivered. Seals are in great shape as is the zipper. Fit is pretty spot on as well. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend.

Seriously though.
I think you should buy it only if you need it. Is your old suit inadequate?
