Dive Rite Drysuits

Hi, I'm looking for a new drysuit and have read a lot about DUI, Bare (also in the running based on my research), and White's but little about the Dive Rite. All of my diving is in VA and NC. I've dove a Viking in the past and found it to be a heavy duty, simple and dependable suit. The Dive Rite suits have many of the features I like, such as trilam, built-in suspenders and pockets. However, I would like to hear from any owners or divers who have tried one out. What did you like or dislike about the suit? Trying one out would be nice but none of our local shops rent them and my buddies dive wet. Thanks for any input you can offer.

I own a 905 and love it. I was planning on either a DUI CF200 or CLX450 until I demo'd the dive rite. I got a the demo suit for $600 to boot. This is an 'upgrade' to a white aquapro custom suit I initially got.

What I like - really like the pockets and soft material. Its back entry but that really doesn't make much difference to me. (front entry is available).

I am still on the fence about socks/rock boots vs integrated boots. My whites is the socks but the dive rite is the integrated boots. The integrated boots are quicker to get on and off but sometimes makes it hard to get the 'feel' of the fins.

Its a good suit - try one if you can. I am seriously considering dumping the whites for a second Dive rite - self entry. Dive rite and DUI both do demo days and 'tec tour'.

Thanks for your thoughts on the suit. How well do the boots fit your fins? I'm currently in a large jet fin and was wondering if the DR boots fit fins normally or if you have to get an oversized fin. If memory serves, it's not an issue with Dive Rite.

In the whites I used XL turtles. In the Dive rite, I have XL quattro's and XL jets. I personally prefer the quattros as its easier on the feet but some dives call for the jets. I can use the quattros with my wetsuit booties as well.
I use a size 12 boot.

I have found that until you go to separate boots like the Rock Boots options various makers have, you will not need to go up a size in fins on the attached boots. The reason is softer material that somewhat crushes and as noted it does tend to feel a bit more floppy compared to a rock boot.

You get used to it though.

I'll have to try the two types of boots. The rock boots seem more likely what I would end up with.

Nows the time to get a diverite suit. They are deeply discounting their suits to make way for the new and improved version coming out in November I believe.
