hose hats?

Do you know what another name for hose hats are? The quick release plastic piece to add to your dry suit inflator hose?

The do-hicky that catches on your sleeve when you reach across your chest, pops your hose off your inflator, and causes pretty purple lines and splotches on your body as you pass 100'. Oh, and by the way, pounding on the inflate button with the hose disconnected shoots an icy cold stream of water inside. A knurled collar is easy to release, and less likely to catch.

Hose Hats. TechDivingLimited.com sell them, also.

Hose-Hat [Hose-Hat] - $3.00 : Tech Diving Limited, a subsidiary of Scuba Training and Technology Inc.

Huh? I've never experienced any issues like that with mine, and I find they make it MUCH easier to pop an inflator off while wearing thick gloves. Of course, I only use them on my BC inflator.

I've got mine on my DS as well and no issues. Just have to remember that the flat side goes down.

I just wish they made them in a size that works with Miflex hoses.

The Miflex connector is pretty beefy and easy to grab as it is, much moreso than regular hoses, so it's not strictly as necessary, but they're still nice to have.

Good to know. I bought a inflator hose from TDL and it was a tight fit. I almost put the hat in boiling water and then tried fitting it. One good thing about these is that they won't break off like the wing style that I had on my DS.

I read someone managed to cram the hose hats onto the Miflex hoses by heating them in boiling water, but I prefer something that actually fits.

Dui suits come with a hose that is perfect, won't catch and accidentally release, but easy to operate with cold, gloved hands. kind of shaped like a mushroom.
