Tips needed for Dry Suit fit

I may have to measure at home for a Dry Suit and thought I should get some advice on what are the more critical measurements. Also stuff like should you hold your gut in and how tight to pull the tape. Things they might not mention in the instructions. Thanks for any advice on this , Ron

Best way to measure is to follow these instructions

http://www.dui-online.com/pdf/measur...structions.pdf
Granted it's for DUI, but the concepts are the same
I followed these to the letter, and I have a perfect fitting FLX 50/50 custom made suit.

Is it possible for you to go into the dive shop and get a fitting? Thats probably the best way there.

That would be my preference too,but the closest shop is 50 miles and I drove up there yesterday. They said they only sold about one a year , so I don't have confidence they could get it right. However , Phoenix is not to far if someone knows a shop there that does a good job. I did look over DUI's Site and their instructions are clear with good detail.

If you want I can email you the measurment chart that I was sent by Pinnacle for their custom drysuit. I'm not sure what brand of drysuit you want, but at least you'll have different charts to compare with. If you would like it shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send it your way. I've got their EVO 2, alot bang for the buck, and tough as nails.

Pinnacle dive shops in Phoenix, Az area.

I would very much avoid taking my own messurements. Mine had to be custom made and even with the shop taking the messurements the manufacturer called the shop 3 times to verify some of these. Go have the shop that you are going to be ordering the suit thru take the messurements, if the shop doesn't feel comfortable doing that, than find a different shop. Custom Made Dry suit are too expensive to just sort of fit

I know the store. I bought some gear there a few years back. I'll stop by next time I get into Phoenix.
