Used is always a option! But then it depends on how used and do you trust the guy your buying it from.
<DIV></DIV> <DIV>You can get into a new Dry suit as low as $799.00 and the sky is the limit, Take a look at the Pinnacle Evolution 2 Drysuit I have used many suits but this is by far the best dry suit I have ever seen! I know It's a bit high but give me a call and will make you a great deal.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>Joe </DIV>

I'm shooting myself in the foot here but I've been looking at DUI which is around $2k
<DIV></DIV> <DIV>Am I correct in assuming I'll need yo replace my brand new splitfins if I go to a drysuit.</DIV>

I adore my Apollo Bio-fins (XT-C's).
But I gave them up when I moved to a drysuit. (I still use them when diving wet.) Jets and a frog kick just gave me so much more power. I think the drag from the drysuit just tips the scales on what's acceptable in terms of push. |

It depends on the boot. If you get rock boots then yes you'll probably end up with Jets or turtles. It depends on your foot size, but an average male will end up with larger fins.
<DIV></DIV> <DIV>Do yourself a favor, dive other brands before you buy DUI. Buy the one that fits well, DUI is not the best suit out there for all purposes. Others are just as good, in fact a good one was posted just up a bit. Viking is another good drysuit, there's lots besides DUI.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>If you can try them out and buy the best fitting drysuit you can.</DIV> |

When I went dry I triedevery larger fin I could get my hands on. Iended up with turtles - only thing I could get at the time that evenremotely fit.
<DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>There are plenty of quality drysuits out there besides DUI. I went with a USIA suit, and I love it. I've seen the new Pinnacle Evo 2 suits, and they look great. I'm partial to Pinnacle wetsuits, but the their drysuit didn't offer the fullcustom sizing or some features that I needed at the time.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>Then you have some others that are praised as well: Bare, Whites, Viking....</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>Definitely do some research and ask some specific questionsbefore you decide </DIV> |

I dive a Bare XCD2 Pro drysuit and it's been one of the best investments in my diving. Any drysuit that fits well should serve your purpose unless you intend to do wreck penetration or cave penetration. Then it might be recommended more strongly to spring for the custom suit. I know a lot of people are quite happy with the Bare NexGen bilam (I think) suit. Seems to be a good entry level point with quite a few features. As for the fins, I'm partial to the Scubapro Jet's anyway. I had split fins before, but love my jets.

Above all fit and service! I don't care how good the suit is or is brand x or y, if it does not fit 'you' it is not the right suit for you! Spend the time trying on different suits from different manufactures, it's worth it for your time. Also, when trying on a suit don't forget to be wearing your warmest undies! Also service, talk to your LDS about the service they get from the different companies they carry, also talk with other drysuit divers in your area about their experiences.
Enjoy. |

Totally agree with ScubaToys Joeon the Pinnacle. Started out looking at DUI, couldn't justify the cost and the Pinnacle seems more durable.
<DIV>I put dry gloves (SSI tech) and have zero complaints.</DIV> |
