Latex Socks with a dry suit?

For Christmas, my family gave me a set of latex socks to wear under my drysuit, which has latex ankle seals only.

Today, I figured I'd try them out.

Latex socks over my heavy woolies, then down through the suit and ankle seals. Made sure the two seals met as flush as possible.

My Chuck Taylor limited edition rock boots over the ankle seals.

Finished suiting up , dropped the ladder into the 36 degrees pool, and in I went.

Good news is that the minor crotch leak is fixed. Bad news is the seal to seal seam leaked. Insta wet. The plain ankle seals were fine when I hung the suit up last year, and look fine. The socks hold air, so they're fine.

So that leads me to the seal. What did I miss? Is there some secret voodoo foot wiggle that I missed?

Thanks in advance!

What if you wear the socks OVER the ankle seal? I'm not sure that your set-up is very common. My wife did have a drysuit back in the mid '80s that had latex socks glued on (just like the thin neoprene socks are used now).

I forgot to update this. After checking Global's web site, I got the bootie style, not the socks. So the old ankle seals came out, and the booties went in. No more leaks!

Interesting site. Were you able to attach them yourself?

My wife used to wear regular wetsuit boots with them, but I like my red Chuck Taylor's.

Yeah, all it took was patience, a few beers, and closing my eyes for that first cut.

I have one small leak to track down, hopefully tonight.

I like my DIR black Chuck Taylors.... (/duck)
