Question Need wet glove recommendations for use with drysuit

I have a new DUI TLS350 with zip seals. I have dry gloves on order, but also want some better wet gloves. I would like the gloves to be about 3mm thickness so that I can easily manipulate my camera controls. Because of the wrist seals, the gloves need to be short, possibly with a velcro tab closure instead of a gauntlet or wraparound velcro strap.

Does anybody have a recommendation of a specific brand and model?

I like in Southern California, so I dive cold, but not so cold as to require dry gloves.

Thank you
David

When I use wetgloves I have the gauntlet version and just place it over the seal. It works fine, but I don't normally use wetgloves. Mine's an Akona 3mm glove and works fine.

I have a set of O'neil 3 mil gloves I picked up at a local surf shop.
A little shorter than a true scuba glove with no straps, tabs or nonsense

There are lots out there to choose from. I have never seen a set of wet gloves made for diving that have are made as to allow your fore-finger and thumb to be taken out for doing detail work, but Stearns and Field and Stream both sale a version of these that I use for diving. Not sure of the tickness but I have the Stearns version and they look like 3mm to me.

You can always trim them to suit you.

My Akona glove says AKNG435 on the tag. The cuff does come up over the seal but it's not a problem.

I just shopped for gloves and I wanted a warm glove but without sacrificing dexterity, too much, for 40-50 deg. water. I ended up with the Henderson Gold Core 5mm. I like them a lot and they provide a good balance of what I was looking for. Very warm glove. No problems working a camera with them on.
I also looked at the Henderson Insta Dry 3mm. The had the best dexterity by far, but they seemed like they were a real trouble to don and doff, as others have confirmed.
XS Scuba makes a pretty good 3mm wet/dry glove also, but I also found them hard to put on.

Another little trick with wet gloves. I hate my dry gloves. Besides my regular 3mil gloves, I have a pair of 3mil wet gloves one size too big, size extra large. When it gets too cold for 3mil I found it is better, dexterity wise, to put a pair of reef gloves on under them. The amount of extra warmth is alot but I don't notice as much of a problem with the detail work than I do with let's say a pair of 5 mil gloves. I think because the reef gloves aren't neoprene.

I have several pairs that I wear depending on the conditions (how cold, contaminants, rocks, debris, etc.) however the most common pair that I use "All-around" is a pair of Sea-Soft 3mm gloves (Joe shushes me b/c ST doe'snt carry the brand LOL). I prefer these over the bulky drysuit gloves, and if I need more (rare) I can go to the dry gloves (which I do not care for) or to 5mil sea-softs (I've used these in 34F water and was ok, a bit cool but not too bad.)

Good luck and I hope that this helps!

I have some Sea Style that have a cuff that I can cinch up just tight enough that barely any water comes. They are 5mm. I like them cause they also prevent water from coming in through my wrists via the tendon tracks.
