The only one out of the 3 that I have ever seen in person is the Bare Nex Gen. Looks like a nice suit to me, and anyone that I have talked to about them likes them...
I know it is not much help but that is all I know... Phil

From what I understand the Bare Nex gen is a very durable suit. It is not the best for cave or wreck diving from what I have been told and read. For most other normal boat/shore diveing it will last you years. It all depends too and how you treat and take care of your gear. As well as how many dives per year you are doing....

I've got the Nex-gen, it works fine. What I don't like are the bottle neck wrist seals, a little tight on my wrists and due to shape not adjustable like cone shaped. Also the location of the exhaust valve is poor. The valve is an inch or two too below where most suit locate theirs, so sometimes in order to vent you have to either 'milk' it, hold it up higher, or change your trim to be more vertical. This is mainly noticeable when you get to ~20' and the air in the suit quickly expands (I'm diving cold 38-55* waters, so lots more insulation and air in suit to expand). The other thing I don't like is the inflator button on the front is tinier than some other suits have, it's protected and works fine and easy, just personally I prefer a larger button.
Otherwise I have no real issues that leap out. I'ts been plenty durable and has served me well. I've had mine for about a year and have ~75 dives on it without issue. Jack |
