I just took the plunge: Bought my first drysuit
Saw an offer I couldn't refuse on e-bay and bought a slightly used White's Fusion Tech. It came with an MK3 undergarment, which looks and feels like it could be used for an expedition to the polar ice cap. Tried it on last night, and this thing fits like it was custom made. It is pretty much brand new also. Even the bag it cam in was impressive. It took me a while to get the suit on, but I'm sure it will be easier with use, and once I trim the seals. Can't wait to dive it. All I need now is some boots (or Chuck T's), a lighter undergarment and I'm good to go (assuming it doesn't leak)

woohooooo! welcome to the world of longer diving seasons!
Be wery wery careful on trimming those seals. My first set was trimmed for "comfort". When I tried the suit on, I honestly thought I was going to die the neck felt so tight, so I had the LDS trim the seals until I could stand it. The suit leaked through the neck like nobody's business. After the second set of seals was put on the suit, I allowed the shop owner to convince me that the fit was good and decided to tolerate the pressure. After, um, 20+ dives, I can say that the seal is still OMG tight, but no more uncomfortable than a really tight turtleneck. And, most importantly, I stay dry. My point, if it feels uncomfortable and you are not blacking out, it is probably perfect.

Now there's a statement I'm going to remember for a while. Where's my wife, she's gotta read this...

I just bought my second drysuit as i didnt feel like replacing the seals on the old one for as much as i bought the suit off of ebay. Fit is everything. The new suit fits like a glove. My trim is much better with the new suit. Glad to hear that you joined the drysuit club. You will never want to dive wet agian. Period the end.
A word of caution; be careful of how you treat your buddy underwater if it is a back entry suit. It is no fun trying to unzip yourself when no one else will and you have to use the restroom. Its not a dance that i would like to go to agian.

As mentioned, drysuit seals stretch out over time, be sure not to trim them too much. I find pulling the neck seal over an AL80 and leaving it overnight helps quite a bit. I also put a can of soda or soup in the wrist seals to help prestretch them. Be sure to let us know how it is the first time you get it in the water.

Congrats! Perhaps I should have done the same and got mine of e-bay. I ordered one back in March and have yet to receive it. They did send the suit with the spandex skin about a month ago, but no Tech skin or even rock boots. I heard Whites did ship the boots out last week, but ended up at a different dive shop. That's even after all of the calls and follow up with Whites. Didn't mean to change your thread. The suit is awesome so far and the seals are tight. I have about 20 dives on it and am waiting to see if they loosen up before I start cutting. I put a coffee can in the neck and that seems to help. Good luck! Diving dry is Great and you picked a good one!
