DiveAlert on drysuit hose?
would it still work the same as if it were on a bcd inflation hose?
the reason i ask is because i heard that all drysuit inflation hoses have a 1.0mm flow restricting orriface. so if anyone knows from experience or is willing to compare how loud it is on either hose that would be great thank you all in advance oh and if i put this in a bad spot please let me know, i wasnt quite sure where to put the thread |

I've never heard they have a smaller oriface. Typically I thought people used the same type "power inflator hose" that was on your BC. Just a low pressure power inflator hose. It should deliver air at about the same rate as a power inflator to a BC would. As for whether Dive Alert will work, it doesn't take that much air on that hose to make that thing squeal. I'm interested to see smoothdome's test results. But I'd bet money it will work. |

BC Inflation Hoses Are Not Drysuit Inflation Hoses You should not use a BC inflation hose for drysuit inflation because the drysuit hose has a special 1.0-mm flow restricting orifice for easy buoyancy control. The flow restricting orifice prevents:

I've always used them interchangeably as well... Never pushed my dry suit inflator and blown up to the michilen man in a nano-second - so I would not worry.
And the fitting is the same - should work no problem. The only problem being, is your chest above water level when you need to use it? But if you practice popping it off with your gloves on, you can always disconnect it once you are on the surface to use it. |
