Anyone heard of Diving Concepts?
I saw on eBay a diving concepts dry suit, it's a used tri-lam & comes with some accessories & a good price, but I've never seen it mentioned on here...
I'm planning on taking the dry suit course shortly & at the price it would be better than renting one all the time... Thanks! |

They've been around a while. Here's a link to their home page: http://www.divingconcepts.com/index.htm
As long as it fits good, and it the style you want, then if it's a great price - it's hard to say no. Make sure you do a good check of the seals, but even if they are not in top shape, or have been trimmed to fit someone else better, you can always have seals replaced. |

I have a Diving Concepts drysuit, it's a crushed neoprene. It's their top of the line model and custom sized for the person I bought it from (I can't afford new top of the line stuff yet). I like it, it's well made, works great for me, and I have a local dealer who can order any "parts" I need.

The only really bad problem a drysuit can have is a broken zipper. That can cost a few hundred bucks to fix. |

DC is a good brand. When I was looking at buying my first I almost bought a DC from a local diver.
Like mentioned above..make sure the zipper is in good shape. The seals being in good shape and fitting would be nice but they can be replaced fairly inexpensive. |

DC is a good brand. Make sure the seals are in good shape, or budget for changing them (most likely, unless they are cut to your size or can be trimmed to your size). Make sure the valves are in good shape, the zipper works smoothly and is not cracked, and perhaps a leak check. Ideally, you'll want to borrow it and dive it before committing, but that's rarely an option, and certainly won't be with an eBay suit.

We have sea urgents here that will poke spine through gloves. Those of us with the HD suits don't got holes if the surge pushes us into an urgent. Other suit do get punctured. But then the lighter weight flexible fabric is nice and if you are smarter and do not allow yourself to be slammed into sharp objects DUI will last along time. |
