best hood for drysuit diving

anyone have any recommendations on a decent drysuit hood, im using a mares 6 mm right now and its way too small and very restricting so im in the market for a new one, dont want a dryhood, just a regular hood for coldwater new england diving.

ahh the more i dive dry the more i love it.... apart from one thing, i cant reach myfins to put them on when im in my drysuit.. any tips for that????
Thanks

Welcome to the Board.
Try a Henderson hyperstretch hood, 5 mil or thicker. Very comfortable.
Use a "figure 4" to put your fins on.
Fill in your profile when you get a chance.

I dove the Henderson 5mil for my drysuit for quite a while. I did have to cut down the bib, but worked fine except I would start to get cold on lengthy dives in water colder than 48 degrees. I eventually went to a Pinnacle Merino 5mil. Smaller bib that fit under the seal protector on my USIA drysuit and much warmer.

I would vote for the henderson hyperstretch as well. Very flexible and comfortable. I would recommend you going to a LDS and trying on a few hoods and make sure they fit you.

I always thought I had a small head.. but had to buy the large size hood. :-)

Do you have a DUI drysuit? the warm neck hood is nice. It keeps your neck quite toasty. I sometimes use a standard DUI hood since it makes it easier to turn my head. I found both to be quite forgiving for putting on and taking off of my big head.

I use a zipperless BARE drysuit hood... which is not a dry hood, but has a neck designed not to interfere with a neck seal.
