Inflator Hose
Excuse this question, but being new to the drysuit thing here it goes....
Say for example you are diving dry and for some reason you want to switch to a wetsuit or dive raw. Should you unhook your inflator hose from your 1st stage or just let it be and maybe strap it up with your bc inflator hose. S. Nagel |

Next time you dive in the Summer or Spring take a look around at those divers you know who use a drysuit. Odds are you'll see several of us with a hose tied off. If I'm going to be diving wet for some period of time I will remove the hose, but if it's only a dive or two then I'm not switching it.
The right answer is of course we remove the hose, but in real life that doesn't happen.

I was curious about the same thing Snagel, on the other hand if you could swing it, you could always just buy another reg set, for the wetsuit dives LOL!!!

Yea, I was thinking about buying a 2nd Reg Set also and probably will if I can run across a deal sometime. I like to have the backup option anyway. But, then you have the added cost of maintenance, but also have the option of always having a reg set if one is in the shop.

To be honest I dive dry greater than 90% of the time and when I don't I coil that hose up around the first stage and tie it. A DIR diver might say it's an entanglement hazzard and it might just be at that, but I think the risk is low. I will remove it if I don't intend to dive dry for a period of time but that rarely happens.
Around here the surface temps can be 80 and the bottom in the upper 40's, so a dry suit can be used all year round with some discomfort on the surface.
