Hi, I'm new to this, so here's my first question. I just got an Oceanic CDX 5 First Stage and was wondering what the "R"s on two of the four low pressure ports stand for? I'm thinking these connections are low pressure because the high pressure are clearly marked and my primary is hooked to the "R" on the right side. The other "R" port on the left. Right now, I'm planning to attach my backup to the second lp port on the right side. (but there is no "R"). AmI going in the right direction. Thanks, Kevin

Hi! First time poster here... as the title says, I would like to have some info about experiences with the Aqualung Mikron.

Thing is I got a good deal but still in doubt because of the "designed for children and young adults" thing. I've read some reviews and it seems not to be a big issue.

I want a light weight/small size reg because I'll be traveling a lot in the next year.

Thanks a lot for the help!

Hi :)
I hope i am not spamming the regulators forum but it seems i get too confused when it came to those breathing things.
Is dive rite or XS 90 degrees right angle adapter any good? Do you use them? Do they make your life easier by any means?
Last time i dove, I had a jaw fatigue, It was a rental aqua lung & it was not heavy..may be the mouth piece or perhaps it was the angle the reg came to my mouth.
Thanks in advance :)

What package for a traveler on a budget?

This was asked several times & i am so sorry to repeat but i read all previous posts & still cant make up my mind. I work in 2 places with diving spots thus i must log my dive gear around in anticipation of any opportunity to dive. I am new to diving but rental is expensive on the long run.
On ST, they offer to put up any package you choose...
If you are on a budget & want a decent reg, octos & gauge...what would you order? I have my mind set on Zeagle scout for BCD..do you agree?
Oh..I dive only warm sea waters ie red sea :)
Thanks in advance
SJB
NB: keep selection to that offered by ST if possible...

Old certification, new diver

I first got certified about 35 years ago and then again 4 years ago, and amazingly I have never taken a dive. But hurray, I'm off to Little Cayman in January and ready to buy my first reg. I plan on doing mostly warm water diving, nothing technical, relatively shallow, and because we are ocean challenged here in Colorado, I will be traveling by air.

Anyway, I looked at regs (less than $500) ratings on "Scuba Diving," compared some great prices on ST, and came up with this list:

1. Mares Prestige 32--$279 at ST

2. Tusa RS-530--$369 at ST

3. Zeagle Flathead VI--$349 at ST, or Zeagle Envoy deluxe --$342 at ST

4. Cressi Sub-Ellipse black /MC5--243 at Scuba.com

5. Oceanic Neo--$399 at ST

After reading the forum, I'm leaning toward the Zeagle flathead, but any comments would be appreciated. I'm not interested in spending mega bucks, at least until I get some dives under my belt. Also any comments on the alternate? Thanks.
