Questions on Divemaster/Instructor internships

Has anyone done a Advanced to Divemaster or Instructor internship. They seem to be popping up. Some include room and board. I'm about to get laid off and would mind doing something different but local shops don't have the on going daily dives a resort like Utila Dive Center or Roatan has for training. My dive shop cost about the same overall price and it would take almost 4 months on and off while paying for every dive trip myself. Winds up being more than doing a 6-8 week internship someplace and I can dive every day for experience. Range from $2K to $3K for everything. Any thoughts or experience?
