So, will I look comparitively slimmer by moving to Mississippi, or will I naturally lose weight by moving to a skinny state?

I live in the south

and they are bigger than northeners. Most northeners that i know, and i was born up theer are " good sized" down here where i live we have been noticing most are becoming supersized.
Though our neighbors that used to eat indigenous foods were ntoh that fat...
I am wondering if its the perponderance of convienence foods( mcky Ds, cheetos, chips, junk food) that is one of the main culprits.. or is that they dont dive enough?

Well, I spent 3 years in #6 .. but more specifically, in the most obese city (and most sedentary) in America .. Memphis!

America's Most Obese Cities - Forbes.com

Between the BBQ, southern cooking, and the fact it's always too bloody hot to do anything (average summer temps of 100+), I can understand why it gained both titles. I gained 40 lbs in the 3 years I lived there! I've dropped 20 of it since moving back to Ohio a year ago.

Not sure if its the southern cookin (I luv it) but I have read that it also has alot to do with education and poverty since in many cases people lack the knowledge on how to eat properly. When I went into the hospital for my hip surgery there was a very heavy family and they had given there son a bag of cheetos for breakfast and this was at 5AM so I can just guess whats this poor kid is going to look like by the time he is 10yrs old. I live in Indiana and you wouldn't believe the people in Wal marts here.

I am sure that I will make a lot of friends with this statement. (I am putting on my nomex suit :-)

Have you ever watched an obese person eat? They shovel it in so fast that it is like they are expecting someone to take it away before they are finished. SLOW DOWN.
I have another friend that will eat a second serving of desert. I see this and think to myself "you should have had a second helping of meat or veggies and left the desert alone".
