I'm working up to a mile, I get bored and after a quarter mile I'm ready to get out. It's just not fun swimming long distances without something to do other than swim. I think I could do it, but I've never tried do to boredom. Got to work on that, for those that can I extend my congratulations.

This post has actually depressed me...I never thought of there being an end to my life of diving!!

I guess it's natural that you should stop one day, but, man...

Look on the bright side. There will be 3d TV in 15 to 20 years. Just wet you head & put your mask on & watch Jacque Cousteau reruns.

If you really want to be depressed, did you realize that there will be an end to you as well? Now that's depressing thought, we're not immortal after all. I'm not sure I'd want to be even if I could be immortal.

I am 62 and dive quite a bit. The doctor has cleared me to continue. Keep in shape, watch your weight and dive as often as you can. Your body will tell you when it is time to find another hobby. By the way I have been diving on and off for over 45 years.

70 is just a number...

I just dove in Key Largo with an instructor who was 70. He looked like a seal in the water. Very Impressive.
