ST, get ready for IE8

Joe, Larry & your web team. I just picked this up from one of the newsletters I receive.

I tested ST site with IE8 and it works & displays just fine. I haven't tested the order taking system yet, so you may want to take a look at that portion for sure.

Lastly, this is not a general public download - if you are not a web developer who needs this beta to test his/her site, you shouldn't download this beta product just yet.

If you are a Web developer, you should definitely download and test out Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 on your websites. The goal of Internet Explorer 8 is to render content in its most standards-compliant way by default. By making your sites Web standards interoperable, you can focus more on building innovative features (rather than having to modify content for different browsers).Browsing with this default setting may cause content written for previous versions of Internet Explorer to display differently than intended. If this is the case, check out these helpful step-by-step instructions, the Readiness Toolkit and further insight at the Internet Explorer Developer Center.

the real test of ANY MS product is whether or not you can survive the attacks through all those security holes.

I use FireFox 2. But thanks for the heads-up
I'm also a web-developer. So, I may get it anyway

Why would a web developer not test their sites on IE, Firefox, and Opera at the very minimum?

Also, IE8 supposedly fixes a host more security issues.

I see your sarcasm detection meter is broken...
I don't worry about Opera at all. FireFox and IE are over 94 % of the market. Opera is about 2%; so, I won't waste my client's money to develop for those very few folks.

Firefox 3 is out, and it passes the Acid2 test. IE7 fails miserably, and IE8 Beta one passes it. Sometimes.

FireFox 2 passes Acid3 at about 5 percent, and Firefox 3 passes at about 70. IE...yeah.

On a secondary note, I see you live in Pearl City. I lived there from 1957 to 1960 (yeah,...I'm that old). I lived in the Navy housing. I'm willing to bet that PC has change a bit since I was last there. It would be great to be back. Good diving opportunities.

No turning back to I.E after I tried Firefox.
I'm a firm Firefox supporter
