This would also be a pretty quiet board if people could only make one post per dive. There are a lot more inexperienced divers out there (or perhaps I should say divers with less experience), say, in the 0-50 dive range, than there are in the 1000+ dive range.

Of course, it would be less of an issue if we could enforce a "ask a question ONCE" rule, rather than having to answer the same questions over and over.

I'm not a fan of resurrecting old threads... in MOST (but not all) situations, but I don't think automatically closing them is the really answer. A sanity check warning box would be good, perhaps.

And I exaggerated when I said 'every new subscriber'- this is far from the truth. Most don't. There have been a notable few post-whores though.

For the past ten years I was working jobs were I'd get a few hundreds emails a day (not including spam and junk; messages from people in the company). I guess my tolerance for post-whores is a little higher.

I actually cannot recall anyone resurrecting an old thread in the past few months. This is not to say this hasn't happened, I just failed to register it. My wife says it is senility .
