Scuba & Scouting

There are aspects to Scouts that allow Scuba.
Since there is a JR forum area, I wonder if it would be beneficial to have a forum area for this specific group of divers ?

It's really hard compared to the other usual demographics:
young folks near coastal areas
or older folks with time & money to spend

We are in the Midwest, with a group of teenagers....
and have time related (school) issues for when we can go,
along with financial (teens) issues of where to go.

Since there are issues related to scouting which modifies the "rules" we can operate by maybe a subforum under junior divers maybe appropriate.

BTW: Nice site

Scubaboard has a Scouting section. It doesn't get lots of action, Maybe if we start posting scouting questions in the JR section, then it may get Larry to create a Scouting sub-forum.

Scubaboard has a Scouting (and other Youth Groups ) section. I think what is being asked here is to have a Scouting sub section of the Junior forum.

I agree. I'm a scout.
Since BSA (boy scouts of america) doesn't 'endorse' scuba diving for kids under 14, I don't have an 'offical' connections, though

Your 14 year olds can't get scuba certified under BSA rules, they still can get their Snorkel BSA patch.

Yep, it sucks. I'm 13 and in BSA, and we did scouting thru our troop-I mean a group of friends who met thru scouting got scuba certified. When i turn 15 i'll get the badge though.
