I think they shot a tank and blew one up with some explosive.

yeah but thats not nearly as bad as the accedent scene pictures from that period during the 80s when there was a batch of bad al 80s floating around. I saw one where the filler was crippled and the back half of the store fill tank and all was blown away.

Okay, here's what you do:
equipment needed:
5000+ psi compressor with sufficient high pressure hose and your choice of DIN vs. yoke.
Bunker sufficient to withstand a 3 ATA overpressure (this is important!)
80 cu ft AL tank
a good high speed camera
A protective housing for said high speed housing.

The set up:
AL80 tank set as you desire-verticle or horizontal (verticle recommended)
Connect hose to tank and start compressor - compressor must not be set up in the bunker.
Set up camera in a place where it is reasonably safe from the upcoming overpressure.

Then:
start compressor (filters are not required for this endevour)
Turn on camera and wait.

Shold take less than 5 min to blow tank.

finally: Post video on Scuba Tube.

Fill it full of Nitrox, half-bury it in the ground, build fire around it, add match then retire to safe distance. The next county should be far enough.

Knowing where this thread is heading... I moved it to the Fun and Games as I'm pretty sure the actual knowledge concerning scuba tanks that will be gleaned from this thread will be a bit on the slight side. But have at it!
