I bought it the night it came out
This is NOOOOTTT a game everyone will enjoy, for one. Personally? I really like it, so long as you don't take it too seriously. The premise is that you are a diver and are helping a scientist conduct studies of the underwater life around an island. I have explored about 7 sites so far, you go down and pick out sealife and focus on it. You then have to poke, pet, or feed the sealife to find out what it is. Some sealife can become your "dive buddy" and follow you around. You will also have mini-missions where you have to lead someone on a dive and find certain creatures that they like. In doing so, you unlock more goodies (including dive gear, hehe!). You can also scavenge for treasure. There is more, but that's most of what's covered in the book so I don't give too much away (not that there's much to spoil.. but!). The controls took me a minute to mess with, and I do have two complaints A) you use the wiimote to turn, based on which way you point it at the screen. this is fine until you view a map or toolbar, because if you slack the wiimote.. your diver will twirl all around until you exit. this can throw you off or make you miss a fish! B) you can upload your own music via SD card if you like, but it only plays one song from it, even though it shows a whole playlist you uploaded. This was a bummer as we had a nice ocean-themed list from Tony O'Connor. Ultimately, of course, this doesn't affect game play in any shape, way, or form Just my .02 |
