First time underwater with this camera.
Overall: My photo skills obviously lack and the need for a ext strobe I can see is a must have, and next on my list. Battery would pretty much die by the end of the second dive. Aprox. 50-80 photos (w/flash) plus 3-8 minutes of video. Battery life overall is acceptable but I would recommend keeping a spare handy. ![]() ![]() ![]() Pro: With 12 megapixels you can enlarge and crop pictures down with ease and with very little loss of quality. Very capable above water camera. Cons: I was having some issues with getting perfect focus but that is probably more me than the camera. My biggest problem was fogging/condensation on the inside of the housing, even with using moisture packets. This seemed to occur most after diving 100'+ and coming up shallower. Video: Pro: came out pretty nice for the most part. The HD makes for some beautifully large viewing on the big screen TV. Con: could really use some sort of image stabilization. Video of Hammerhead at Martins memorial - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Video of Black tip reef sharks - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting *The samples I am posting lose a large amount of the quality due to compression by photobucket. IRL they def look better with no pixelation, even at a very high zoom.

Some nice shots, but I am not a big fan of the "date" being on.

Were the underwater pictures taken in sea and sea mode without a strobe? I just got this camera for Xmas and took it to the pool this last weekend. All of my pictures are extremely dark. I tried close up, far away, macro mode and just about any other combo I could find but it didn't seem to make a difference. I'd like to know if there's something I did/didn't do before I go spend 600.00 more for a strobe. Thanks in advance!
