Arrow U/W Leak Detetector

Thought some people would be interested in this.........

This electronic device has been designed to serve as a warning in
case of a leak or excess moisture inside of underwater camera housings.

The unit warns the user with a flashing ultra-bright LED (Light Emitting Diode), that is visible from the outside of the housing.

The Leak Detector is very easy to install in your own housing. It comes complete with full-precise instructions for the end-user to install in a few minutes. Absolutely no tools are required for installation.

Underwater Camera Housing Leak Detector fits many underwater camera housing

Only time I flooded a camera housing it just flooded. No little leak. I was looking at the thing and one second it was fine the next it was full of sea water. Did get just a little water in a canister light before. Enough to start a little rust on one end of the battery pack but not enough o effect use. Knowing it was wet inside would have been nice but no flashing light would work inside a black housing.

Every diver will have something leak at some point.

Link works for me. It sounds good. Has anyone tried it and had enough moisture to enter to set it off yet???

I have not used this yet, I am not sure it would fit with my particular housing. I thought for $25 there would be people interested and hopefully it might help some avoid a disaster........

Seen this... seems like a clever product. I may get one for my next camera.

Would have been nice if the site gave a description of just how sensitive the device is, and whether or not it is reusable. If it triggers too early, you may as well have had an absorbency pad in there to take the moisture. Furthermore, if it triggers too early and it is not reusable, it wouldn't be all that useful.

As long as the circuit board isn't destroyed and the battery contracts corroded, it should be reusable as soon as the moisture sensor drys out. $25 is cheap insurance, if it saves a flood. Cheaper than the deductible on an insurance policy, and it's a lot more convenient to have the camera saved due to early warning than have to go through a claims process! (not to mention no waiting)

You probably noticed by now the pull down tab describing testing cleaning maintenance/on/off/& resetting. But if not----http://www.uwleakdetector.com/maintain.htm
