Ikelite updates its dSLR housings design 10-27-09

Starting November 1, 2009 Ikelite introduces several changes to its dSLR housings design. Even though the changes are not quite significant they would increase the confidence of the Ikelite customers.
The simple 2-locks port system will now include two additional locks. The Ikelite customers that acquired a new dSLR housing after 1 October 2009 are offered a complimentary modification. The offer includes free return shipping within US and Canada. The owners who bought their housings before October 1st may return their housings for modification at a cost of $150 plus return freight.
As part of the modification Ikelite would add free of charge the new 1/4-20 threaded mounting point, which will come standard with all new housings after November 1st. The mounting point allows attachment of a focus light, video light or other lightweight accessories.
All existing port components will be fully functional with the new port locking system with the exclusion of the #5510.10 Superwide Port Body. The old body is replaced with a new #5510.11 Superwide Port Body. The #5510.11 features a new locking feature and is usable with both four-lock and two-lock housings. Ikelite placed an exchange offer to its customers. The #5510.10 port bodies may be returned for a reduced exchange cost of $60 plus return freight.
