What mm booties?

I will be going diving where I will be wearing a 7mm-8mm wet suit. I am assuming 3mm booties won't do good, and need to buy thicker ones?

All my (local) diving is done in a 7mm wetsuit and I wear 5mm booties. That's usually fine unless the temperature drops to around 17C and then my feet do get cold. I want to get some Pinnacle booties that are thicker and with Merino, they look comfy and will hopefully be warmer!

I have a 7mm wetsuit, a hooded vest that is 6/5 mm, and I think my boots are 5mm, and my gloves are 3mm (which are WAY too thin for under 62 degree water!!).

I use 5mm booties in the winter if I am not wearing my drysuit. You can also wear a pair of athletic socks then put on the booties for extra warmth.

I dive in a 7mm farmer john and 5 mm booties work fine for me, in fact, my feet are the last thing to ever get cold.

you did not say where you're diving. in approx. +7 C and up water i'm very comfortable in my 7 mm pinnacle booties or in henderson 7 mm hyperstratch. it's usually the head and torso that gets cold in my case. i never tried 5 mm boots. as long as the seal is good, they should do the job.

I use a 7mm wetsuit and a 5mm hooded vest. My booties are 7mm. I've never had a problem with my feet being too hot, only too cold. So, I would go for a 7mm bootie over a 3mm bootie.

well, I would probably shoot for the same or more. extremities get cold first. am I right? I think if you are diving with 8mm its time for a dry suit. one thing though. I had a pair of 5 MM and they were uncomfortable at depth and even caused pain. th sole was a thick ruber that compressed at depth and squeezed my heal. someting t think about.
