Lake Huron - Sport and Strong anyone dove them?
My wife and I are signed up for a dive charter trip to the Sport and the Strong this coming Saturday... and I was just wondering what to expect.
I know they are shallow wrecks 45ft and 25ft according to one listing... and I know the water should be around 65 degrees so we'll be diving in 7mm suits with hoods and gloves. Beyond that I'm just looking for some feedback on the sites as far as visability, current, etc ![]() I was told by someone this weekend that it is a "Rite of passage for Great Lakes divers" - and that can be taken a few different ways... so I'm just curious. Thanks in advance!

I did this dive yesterday. 7 mils are fine. The Sport is in 45 feet of water with a shovel. Mellow dive. You will have fun gauging the number of dives you have under your belt. The Eliza Strong is even easier. Long and shallow. You will love it. There are a few rock bass on it. Who you diving with? I am scheduling dives the next day with Brunos. If you are on facebook check out the group third coast divers. I will be scheduling dives. You are more than welcome to hop on. Drop me a pm if you want more info.

Excellent! Thank you for the information.
We are doing the dive through Great Lakes Divecenter, and the charter is with Rec & Tec Dive Charters. (Rec and Tec Scuba Dive Charters - Lexington Michigan, Thumb area Preserve, Sanilac Preserve) I don't know much about them, so we'll see ![]() Looking forward to it - this will be our first Great Lake dive. So far we have done Portage Quarry a few times and a week in Jamaica. (certified in May) I'll check you out on facebook when I get some free time.

The trip was great!
The mooring line at the Sport was missing though, so we could only dive the Strong. Cool experience though! 3 of the other divers ended up pretty seasick and only were able to do one dive... I didn't think the waves were too bad, except when we tried to surface swim back to the boat from about 100 ft out (misjudged our exit point a little bit).
